Ayurveda, an Upaveda (auxiliary knowledge) in the Vedic tradition, is one of the oldest systems of medicine still practiced today. Kayachikitsa is the primary branch of Ashtanga Ayurveda, focusing on the treatment of systemic diseases.

The term “Kaya” refers to the body, and “Chikitsa” means treatment. The concept of Agni (metabolic fire) is central to Kayachikitsa and plays a vital role in maintaining health and treating diseases.

This department deals with the management of various systemic disorders including geriatric diseases, mental health (Manas Roga), emergency conditions, Rasayana, and Vajikarana therapies.
