Shalyatantra Department
Shalyatantra deals with shastra karma means surgery. It incorporates surgical and parasurgical procedures like Agnikarma, Ksharakarma, Raktamokshana (blood letting).These are traditional therapies for surgical and parasurgical issue of several disease.

Academic -
- Case discussion and CME arranged regularly by Shalyatantra Department
- Departmental library with study related books
- Department is equipped with descriptive models, informative charts, surgical instrument for better understanding of the subject.
Clinical -
OPD - Conducted by specialized and well experienced surgeons and super specialist. Well experienced doctors available for expert opinion. In OPD diseases like chronic wounds, renal calculus, prostate enlargement, gall bladder stone, anorectal disorders etc treated by ayurvedic medicine.
IPD - well equipped indoor patient department with trained staff.
Operation Theater - well equipped minor O.T. and Major O.T.with proper sterilization. Minor O.T. for minor surgical procedures (I&D Agnikarma, Jalaukavacharan, Ksharkarma, Wound Dressing,Suturing etc).
Types of procedures done in O.T.
General surgery- All minor surgeries, Hydrocele, Hernia, Appendecectomy, Fracture reduction etc.
Ano-rectal surgery- Piles, Fissure in ano, Perianal abscess, Fistula in ano etc.
Ksharsutra ligation
Above all procedures are done in O.T. by specialized surgeons and well trained staff.
Ksharsutra Laboratory
The students and interns prepare Ksharsutra under the guidance of expert teachers.
AIMS
Students should have basic knowlege of surgical principles in Shalyatantra by various Ayurvedic texts and will be able to diagnose common diseases according to Ayurved and Modern medical science.
